چکیده
Background: Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy is a frequently encountered occurrence in pediatric setting and more prevalent the low middle income countries. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) considered reliable source of investigation. Our study determined findings cause ischemic encephalopathy children referred for MR Imaging to our radiology department. Study design: A prospective cross-sectional study. Place duration study: was conducted at tertiarycare hospital, Karachi Pakistan from 1st November 2021 30th October 2022. Methods: included newborns 16 years age who either had history fits, abnormal APGAR score, delayed cry or milestones. The brain MRI performed on 1.5 tesla scanner with standard protocol interpreted by Experienced Radiologists Findings were recorded anExcel Sheet data analyzed SPSS version 26. risk hypoxic insult born mothers hypertension, diabetes milletus, maternal substance abuse fits and/or Children via instrumental delivery excluded Result: total number 187 patients 98 males 89 females. most common group involved >1 year 5 (50.3%). presenting complaints milestones (63.6%) (59.9%), (52.4). On examination 42.2% microcephaly. One-third positive mellitus, hypertension anemia. score checked 1 minute which showed 3-6 seen 81.8% patients. 54.5% periventricular leukomalacia, 35.3% deep gray matter involvement, 3.7% germinal matrix hemorrhage, only 1.6% watershed infarcts. statically significant association between gestation birth leukomalacia (P=<0.5). Conclusion: society recommended modality due its sensitivity superior soft-tissue resolution. In developing countries lack proper facilities awareness, there an increased incidence HIE leads morbidity therefore increasing awareness early diagnosis utmost importance. Stem Cell Therapy in Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy
Introduction there are one million deaths from asphyxia in newborn annually. Management of this newborn is only supportive. Autologuse stem cell therapy may reduce mortality and long term morbidity. Outcome of asphyxiated newborn is related to damage CNS cells. Stem cells prevent Apoptosis and induce repairmen of injured neurons. Methods in a review study all article related to three keyword...

OBJECTIVE To investigate the effects of hypothermia treatment on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) patterns of brain injury in newborns with hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy compared with normothermia, including the prognostic utility of MRI for death and/or disability at a postnatal age of 2 years. DESIGN Substudy of a randomized controlled trial. SETTING Participating centers in the Infant ...
متن کاملClinical outcomes of neonatal hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy evaluated with diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging.
PURPOSE Detection of early phase neurological deficit in babies with hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) is the most important step to determine the appropriate preventive treatment methods. Diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) is the most sensitive radiological modality to detect ischemic changes in the brain, in their earliest phase. Herein, we present the results of our study about the role of...
